GOcontroll Moduline HMI1

The Moduline HMI1 is a rugged Human Machine Interface controller with a 10.1 inch touch screen. It combines a clear operator display with direct machine control, reading signals and driving outputs from a single unit. Its I/O can be configured to your requirements with plug-in Moduline modules.

The example user interface shown is built with LVGL, and the Moduline modules can be programmed in C, MATLAB/Simulink, Node-RED and more.

Applications

  • Operator dashboard combining live signal read-out with on-screen control
  • In-cab display and control unit for mobile machines and vehicles
  • Real-time visualisation of sensor signals such as temperature, pressure and speed
  • Driving actuators, valves and lighting straight from the touchscreen
  • Machine status, alarm and diagnostic screens
  • On-vehicle data logging and telemetry with graphical visualisation

Features

  • 10.1 inch touch screen
  • 2 module slots for Moduline-compatible I/O modules
  • Ethernet 10/100 Mbps
  • 2 x CAN bus (CAN 2.0 B / CAN FD)
  • Bluetooth 5.1 (BR/EDR/LE)*
  • Wi-Fi 4 (802.11 b/g/n)*
  • RS232 serial communication*

* Available as an orderable assembly option.

Processor specifications

The GOcontroll Moduline HMI1 is equipped with an i.MX 8M Plus application processor which is only used for the application. Low level signal processing is handled locally by the modules.

Programming the user interface

The touchscreen interface is built with LVGL, a lightweight open-source graphics library for embedded displays. Because it renders directly to the screen without a heavy desktop layer, the interface starts almost instantly and stays light on system resources, leaving processing power for your control application.

You build the screens with buttons, gauges, sliders and live readouts, and link them to the control logic running on the same controller. The interface shows live values from your application and sends operator input straight back to it, keeping the display and the machine control in sync.

GOcontroll provides a ready-made demo interface as a starting point, so you can shape the look and behaviour around your own machine.

Controller supply and maximum ratings

The controller is supplied through the main automotive connector. This supply is only used to power the controller.

Please let us know if you consider to implement a GOcontroll controller into your system. The STEP file of the controller is available for download in the knowledge base.

The Moduline HMI1 page in our knowledge base covers everything you need to integrate the controller: the complete pinout of the 34-position system connector, how the two module slots are divided over it, the supply and enable input, and the STEP model of the housing.
