Why GOcontroll Moduline M1 fits perfectly

The GOcontroll Moduline M1 is a compact embedded Linux controller with four module slots, two CAN interfaces, and a powerful quad-core NXP i.MX8 processor.
Its CNC-milled aluminium housing (IP67) ensures reliable performance even in challenging environments.
For the Zen Sand Table, this translates into flawless stepper or servo motor control, feedback management, and connectivity via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. The controller boots quickly and runs Simulink models or Node-RED flows — no coding required.

Precision motion and smooth control

GOcontroll’s modular architecture allows the Zen Table to use output modules that drive PWM or bridge control for both axes.
The Moduline M1’s embedded accelerometer and internal monitoring functions help ensure vibration stability and repeatable motion.
With MATLAB Simulink, motion profiles — such as curved trajectories, easing functions, and synchronized acceleration — can be built visually and executed in real time.

Creating patterns with Node-RED

Node-RED comes pre-installed on GOcontroll controllers, allowing intuitive graphical programming and remote dashboards.

  • Upload or generate pattern files from images or equations.
  • Schedule drawing sessions with simple dashboard controls.
  • Adjust light colors or intensity as the sand design forms.
