Serial terminal
If you have established an USB connection with the controller and you have verified if a COM port is emulated, you can login to the controller using a terminal program.
Using the serial terminal
You can use your preferred terminal program to login to the controller using the emulated serial interface over USB. In this example, PuTTY is used as terminal program.

- Select the COM port retrieved from your device manager. In this case COM9
- Switch to Connection type: Serial
- Set speed to 115200
- Click Open to initiate the serial connection
- Once the terminal is open but there is no text, hit enter once

- GOcontroll login: root (followed by enter)
- Password: root (followed by enter)

You are now logged on to the controller. From this point, you are able to use all kind of GOcontroll services and Linux packages which are installed on the controller.
