Hot plugging

GOcontroll Moduline controllers are not designed for hot-plugging of any connectors. Hot-plugging can lead to hardware damage, unexpected resets, or corrupted data. This applies especially to the multi pin automotive connectors on the Moduline controllers.

The internal architecture of all GOcontroll Moduline controllers provides multiple ground references across different connectors. When a module is powered while another connector is already attached, the module may attempt to complete its ground path through a different connector

Safe procedure:

1. Turn off all the supplies to the controller (K30, KL15 and module supplies).
2. Wait until the controller is fully powered down.
3. Only then disconnect or connect IO connectors.
4. Reapply power after all connections are secured.
