apt packages

GOcontroll distributes its software for the Linux based Moduline controllers, the Moduline L4, M1 and HMI1, as Debian packages from its own apt repository. This page shows how to set up that repository on a controller with one command, and lists the user-facing packages with their latest version, its release date and what has changed.

To use the command line interface, a wired ethernet and/or Wi-Fi connection is mandatory.

Setting up the GOcontroll repository

The packages on this page come from the GOcontroll apt repository. Set up the repository on the controller with:

curl -fsSL https://apt.gocontroll.tech/install.sh | bash

The script must run as root and supports bullseye, bookworm and trixie. It installs the signing key of the repository, connects the controller to the repository on apt.gocontroll.tech and runs apt-get update. An existing GOcontroll repository configuration on the controller is overwritten.

When the repository offers it, the script then installs go-apt-source, the package that manages this repository configuration on the controller from then on. When it is done, the script prints GOcontroll repository configured successfully.

The controller must be able to reach apt.gocontroll.tech.

Which version is installed

Run identify:

identify

The section INSTALLED GO-* TOOLS lists every installed go-* package with the installed version and, in the Manifest column, the version in the GOcontroll repository. A package name in orange has a newer version available; green means it is up to date. The Manifest column is available from identify 2.2.3. The full report is described in identify.

Installing or updating a package

Refresh the package list:

apt-get update

Then install the package, or update it when it is already installed, with apt-get install. For example go-modules:

apt-get install go-modules

The repository offers the same versions for bullseye, bookworm and trixie, and only the latest version of each package. The release date is the date on which that version was published in the GOcontroll repository.
